As we close out this Veterans’ Day weekend, we wanted to end it with a stark reminder. According to one news broadcast this morning, a WW II Veteran dies every 90 seconds. Korean War Veterans are dieing almost as fast and many WW II Veterans are also Korean War Veterans. Dr. Sam Bierstock and John Melnick – a member of Bierstock’s band, Dr. Sam and the Managed Care Band – wrote a song inspired by an old soldier in an airport parking lot. The mournful “Before You Go” does more than salute those who fought in WWII and Korea. It encourages people to go out of their way to thank the aging warriors before they die. We salute Dr. Bierstock and Mr. Melnick for their creative gesture and offer their video above and . . . add our humble thanks to “The Greatest Generation!”
