A good friend of ours, and Air Force vet, sent us an e-mail about the publication of — The Peacekeepers, by Jack Miller (Houdini Publishing, ISBN: 978-1-936759-09-5) – scheduled to be available for order in book stores today. The Peacekeepers is about Air Force Radar Station operators during the Cold War. The following is a slightly modified (underlined italics), excerpt from the e-mail we received: “The air defense mission was successfully accomplished due in no small part to our own personal and collective commitment to success despite the rigorous demands of 24 x 7 duty, often difficult living conditions, lack of off-duty activities, and separation from families. The Peacekeepers contains inputs from over 200 radar station veterans that describe in first person terms how we adapted and succeeded.” Mr. Miller is passing along his book royalty to the Air Force Radar Museum Association and our National Air Defense Radar Museum. Sounds like a good read! Thanks!
